La Toàn Vinh eventually settled in Montreal. He became deeply involved in the international mail art movement. In the 2000s and 2010s, he worked extensively as a fine art photographer and archivist, documenting the New York art and literary scene. His photography famously captured the life and social gatherings of prominent writer and art critic William S.
